Get King Crimson, Kyuss, Miles Davis and Zappa and ram them in a blender, sparkle some movies dialogues on top and you get Martello: a crazy rock jazz-core power trio!
The core of all the tracks – drums, guitar and trumpet – was recorded all together in a sort of live situation in the studio with very few takes, no click track at all. We then overdubbed some guitars and trumpets for the sake of architectural mixes and layered some effects.
